Actually, we have just returned from a holiday in the Netherlands, and Casa Trankilo would now be full of guests enjoying a carefree holiday… But reality is further away from this than ever. We are in a science fiction movie where a pandemic of unprecedented proportions is underway. Where an unknown virus spreads around, makes people sick and also kills many people.
Bubble
Corona or Covid-19 makes the world come to a standstill. Bonaire’s airspace is closed and we are literally in a bubble. No infections on the island so far, but that is different in the rest of the world. The last guests left at the end of March and no one actually knows how, what, when. Who could have ever imagined this on such a large scale…
Wait…
Fortunately, everyone in our immediate area is still healthy and life on Bonaire is now starting to get back on track, two months after the start of the crisis. More and more is becoming known about the virus, although it is far from under control, so let’s wait and see… fortunately there is government support and we will get through it as a company.
We keep ourselves busy with teaching at home, building a new apartment and trying to have as much fun together as possible. The uncertainty takes a toll every now and then, so it’s not always easy, but it will be fine.
